Homefield Baseball Complex
The Homefield Baseball Complex is located in Kansas City, KS at 1501 N. 90th St. The project site is 49.96 acres, and includes eight baseball all-turf fields with concession stands, entry building, maintenance building, baseball clovers, fencing, field lighting, PA system, sidewalks, bleachers, dugouts, pitching tunnels, batting cages, and landscaping. DuBois Consultants delivered structural engineering and design services for key elements of the project, including the maintenance building, dugout facility, and entry building. In addition to these core responsibilities, DuBois provided comprehensive project management and construction administration services.

Modernization Improvements at KC Water Treatment Plant
The City of Kansas City, MO, is working to modernize its water treatment plant by addressing rehabilitation needs, optimizing the treatment process, increasing the treatment capacity from 240 to 270 MGD, and eventually allowing for expansion to 300 MGD. DuBois Consultants completed work on Phase I of the project and is now onto Phase II. Our services include review of previous studies, condition assessment,
structural evaluation, summary of recommended improvements, preparation of full design plans, and construction phase services.

2000 Vine St. Rehabilitation North & South Buildings
The historic structures at 2000 Vine St. was rehabilitated and DuBois Consultants had the opportunity provide structural engineering services on the project. For the North building, the team evaluated the existing floor and roof structure, identified necessary modifications, and supported construction through administration services. In the South building, DuBois was brought in to assess unforeseen site conditions during demolition. The team revised demolition and framing plans, produced temporary wall support designs, and provided updated construction drawings based on field investigations.

Wichita Water Facility
The City of Wichita, KS, replaced the aging 80-year-old Main Water Treatment Facility with the new Wichita Water Facility. This new 120 MGD, state-of-the-art, and future-proof facility will impact up to 55,000 families and homes across the city and surrounding areas. Our scope of services on the project included the design of six clarifier tanks, influent meter vault, influent splitter structure, influent flow control vault, ancillary bridge and support structure, solids contact clarifier, liquid holding tank, and multiple Pre-Engineering Metal Buildings (PEMBs) foundations on site. We also provided structural peer reviews of the chlorine contact basin and construction administration support.

New Kansas City International Single Terminal
The City of Kansas City, MO, replaced the outdated Kansas City International (KCI) Airport Terminals A, B, and C with a new single, consolidated terminal complex. DuBois Consultants provided structural engineering, design, and construction administration services for both the Central Utility Plant and the Terminal. As the Structural Engineer-of-Record for the Central Utility Plant, we led design efforts and provided ongoing CA support. At the Terminal, our work included foundation systems, concrete superstructure, masonry walls, and the severe weather area. Our team also supported design-build pile reviews and maintained a consistent on-site presence during construction.

Todd Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Facility Plan
The existing Todd Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility is being upgraded to treat 8.7 MGD to meet projected demands in the year 2050. The influent pump station, splitter, and grit removal systems are being upgraded to meet current MDNR standards, and a SCADA system is included in the facility plan. DuBois Consultants is providing civil and structural engineering and design services that encompass all site grading, stormwater, and water infrastructure. Our civil team developed the Erosion and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and our structural team designed the influent pumping station vault, effluent meter, and aeration structures. Upon completion of the final design, the project was relocated to a new site. DuBois Consultants is currently working on the redesign process of the facility plan to tailor it to the new location.

Blue River Bio-Solids Facility
The Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant was upgraded and renamed the Blue River Bio-Solids Facility, which now features the Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP), a first for the Midwest, to recycle human and domestic waste. DuBois Consultants provided structural engineering and design services on the THP and gas flare foundations, east and west holding tanks, electrical building foundation design, digester building renovation, several site equipment foundation pads, pipe supports, and more. In addition, our team provided construction administration services during the construction phase. With the conclusion of this project, our team has begun work on the Blue River Grit Removal & Fine Screens project at the same site.

Central Bank Sporting Complex
Sporting Field North LLC developed the 76-acre Central Bank Sporting Complex in Kansas City, Missouri, located near N. Platte Purchase Drive and Highway 152.Sporting Field North LLC developed the 76-acre Central Bank Sporting Complex in Kansas City, Missouri, located near N. Platte Purchase Drive and Highway 152. The complex includes 10 synthetic turf fields designed for year-round play and built to accommodate a wide range of sports, including soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse, flag football, and more. DuBois Consultants provided structural design of the maintenance building, fieldhouse building, restroom and concession buildings and their canopies, and gate canopies. In addition, our team provided project management and construction administration services.

Historic Lincoln Building Renovation
The Historic Lincoln Building, located within Kansas City’s 18th & Vine District, is currently undergoing significant interior renovations. DuBois Consultants is providing structural design support on the building including a new three-level staircase, solutions for damaged floor framing, temporary support floor framing redesign, and new loose lintel and framed openings at specific locations. Additionally, our structural engineers are supporting with the design of new rooftop units, existing steel beam and concrete repair, and the Central Atrium stair design.

Barney Allis Plaza Redevelopment
The former Barney Allis Plaza, a 1970s concrete space with a 900-space underground garage at 12th & Wyandotte, had grown outdated and deteriorated. The ongoing Barney Allis Plaza Redevelopment project is transforming it into a two-acre urban park, while rebuilding the garage to provide 580 spaces. DuBois Consultants is serving in multiple capacities on the Barney Allis Plaza Redevelopment project. Through our Owner’s Advisory services, our team provides project management and administration support during the construction phase, including bi-weekly progress reporting to track schedule, progress, observed deficiencies, and other key project details. Throughout construction, our team is also providing special inspections services. Following each site visit, our inspectors prepare and submit detailed reports.

Fishing River Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion
In 2011, the Fishing River Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kansas City, MO was expanded. The previous plant was a 1.0 MGD extended aeration, factory prefabricated treatment plant. The DuBois Consultants civil and structural design teams’ scope on the WWTP expansion to 2.0 MGD included site development, utility design, stormwater detention and retention, grading, drainage, an access road, and the structural design of the grit building influent pumping station, ultraviolet treatment building, and Blower Building. We also provided the design of several underground structures, such as the influent pumping station valve vault, ultraviolet channel, aeration basin, aeration basin splitter box, final clarifier splitter box, effluent, lagoon and biofilter.

Troost Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Shelter
Located at 67th & Troost in Kansas City, MO, is a BRT shelter and bus stop that is part of the RideKC network and a key link along a corridor connecting riders to destinations such as Downtown Kansas City, the University of Missouri–Kansas City, and more. DuBois Consultants provided structural support during the design of the shelter, analyzing and reviewing the existing design, preparing construction documents, conducting quality assurance and quality control reviews, and delivering project management and construction administration support.

Iatan Generating Station
The Iatan Generating Station is a major two-unit coal power facility near Weston, MO. DuBois Consultants provided a variety of civil and structural engineering and design services at the plant for over a decade, starting in 2006 and ending in 2017. DuBois Consultants’ civil and structural engineering services included foundation design for Unit Absorbers 1 & 2, modifications to an access road, and design of a platform connecting to stairs along the Unit 2 Boiler. Our team also designed a new guard post building that was approximately 900 sqft. and contained a restroom, operations desk, workstations, utility closet, storage room, kitchenette, exterior screen enclosure for mechanical equipment, and an exterior CMU planter/crash barrier.

Rose Hill Townhomes
The Rose Hill Townhomes are located at 1113 Admiral Blvd in Kansas City, MO. The process to design and build the residential property began in 2014, and the facility was opened to the public in 2016. DuBois Consultants was proud to play a key role in this effort by providing structural engineering services throughout the project. Our team designed the foundations and framing for three distinctive 3-story apartment buildings, ensuring each structure met the highest standards for safety, durability, and functionality. Beyond design, we remained actively engaged in the bid process and during construction administration, offering technical guidance, addressing field conditions, and collaborating with contractors to ensure the finished buildings reflected the project’s goals.

Birmingham Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
KC Water Services sought to improve the Birmingham Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). DuBois Consultants provided structural engineering and design services on the project including new influent screens design, improvements to the grit facility, new blower buildings (foundation, walls, roof), new internal wall for aeration tank and aerobic digester, pipe supports, and equipment pads. Our engineers also provided modifications to the previous headworks design, structural upgrades of the primary pump station, structural feasibility study, and more. In addition, we provided support during the construction phase of the project.
