Iatan Generating Station

The Iatan Generating Station is a major two-unit coal power facility near Weston, MO. DuBois Consultants provided a variety of civil and structural engineering and design services at the plant for over a decade, starting in 2006 and ending in 2017. DuBois Consultants’ civil and structural engineering services included foundation design for Unit Absorbers 1 & 2, modifications to an access road, and design of a platform connecting to stairs along the Unit 2 Boiler. Our team also designed a new guard post building that was approximately 900 sqft. and contained a restroom, operations desk, workstations, utility closet, storage room, kitchenette, exterior screen enclosure for mechanical equipment, and an exterior CMU planter/crash barrier.

Spartan (Confidential)

DuBois Consultants provided structural engineering and design support on a confidential substation project in Virginia. Specifically, our engineers designed secondary oil containment structures for two transformers, each containing 12,800 gallons of oil. Design elements included the oil containment pit, oil stop valve, rainwater drainage system, and rainwater dispersion pit.

Solar Energy Owner’s Advisory Services (Confidential)

Solar Energy Owner’s Advisory Services (Confidential)

DuBois Consultants provided civil engineering support in the form of Owner’s Advisory services for this confidential renewable energy project. At the 30% design milestone, our team reviewed engineering deliverables, performed Owner’s Advisory services related to the civil components of the project, and participated in coordination calls with the Owner, Contractor, and Engineer.

Weston Substation

The Weston Substation is situated in Weston, MO. DuBois Consultants contracted with KCP&L in 2014 to provide civil engineering and design services at the substation. Our scope of services included site development, grading, drainage, a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), correspondence with Platte County, MO, and management survey and geotechnical subconsultants. Additionally, our structural engineering team was brought on to assist with the design of retaining walls on the site.
