Managing Exciting Structural Engineering Projects

  • Oversee projects from concept to completion

Technical Oversight & Innovation 

  • Review and approve structural designs, calculations, and analysis

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients

What You Bring to the Table: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s a plus!) 


Certification:Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) (LEED, ENV SP, or PMP Even better!) 


Experience: 10+ years in structural engineering, with at least 5 years leading teams 


Tech Savvy: Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, Enercalc, TEDDs 


Leadership: Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing teams 


Project Management: Experience handling large, complex engineering projects 


Client-Centric: Strong communication and relationship-building skills 


Bonus Points If You Have:

What You’ll Be Doing (A Day in the Life):

Structural Design & Analysis:

  • Engineer rock-solid structural designs for commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Perform detailed calculations and simulations to ensure integrity, safety, and compliance with regulations.
  • Think outside the box to provide creative solutions that exceed client expectations.
  • Review technical drawings, reports, and specifications—because precision is everything!

Project Management & Coordination:

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources like a pro.
  • Work closely with architects, contractors, and fellow engineers to bring designs to life.
  • Oversee construction documents, ensuring everything aligns perfectly.

Technical Leadership:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • PE License required (SE, PMP, LEED, or ENV SP is a plus!)
  • 7+ years of structural engineering experience (the more, the better!)
  • Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software
  • Strong understanding of AISC, ACI, IBC, and other building codes
  • Project management experience with budgets, timelines, and resources
  • Exceptional communication skills—because engineering is a team sport!

Senior Civil Engineer Summary:

We are currently seeking a talented civil engineer with 7 to 10 years of experience to join our civil engineering department and support and lead various civil engineering projects. The selected candidate will lead civil engineering projects, coordinate directly with clients (internal and external), and provide support, guidance, and mentoring to staff, ensuring excellence throughout the company.


A Day in the Life of a Senior Civil Engineer:

  • Experience leading the civil design efforts for site/land development and utility relocation projects
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians in the design of municipal water distribution and sewer collection system pipeline design, as well as the contractors and construction staff.
  • Review vendor and contractor shop drawings.
  • Prepare and present technical reports
  • Manage engineering design and document production
  • Lead and manage multiple projects of small, medium, and large scale
  • Provide QAQC of projects
  • Meets with and presents to peers and clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Certification as an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) is a plus
  • Candidate must have technical skill sets in any of the following areas: civil site development, site grading, utilities, hydrology, and hydraulics
  • Experience with green infrastructure projects is a plus
  • Candidate must have experience in the preparation of contract documents and the production of plans and specifications
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be proficient in Civil 3D software
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Civil 3D, InfoWorks, XP-SWMM, and/or HEC-RAS is a plus
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters
  • Professional engineer license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in creating and developing department procedures that streamline production
  • Ability to perform quality reviews of detailed engineering documents and specifications
