Under the supervision and direction of our professional engineering staff, students participating in the Niagara Design Institute organize project opportunities with local non-profits in need of engineering design services. This allows students to receive real world experience as well as directly impact communities and organizations in need. Throughout the process students will undergo development of key soft skills training for business development, presentation and public speaking, teamwork, and designing a career path.
Over the years our firm has provided pro bono services to nonprofits for their engineering design services need. In many instances we worked in partnership with other small business firms that offer other design service needs for a nonprofit client. Pro Bono engineering consists of a company utilizing skills, knowledge and expertise of its engineers for a significantly reduced, or no fee basis, to assist a community organization in need of engineering expertise.
Nonprofits must have an existing relationship with DuBois Consultants through financial support; volunteerism; DuBois personnel serving on its Board of Directors or Trustees; or a partner, principal or director sponsor (advocate for the duration of the engagement).
